If you're wondering why the staff at Ruislip Manor Pharmacy are wearing pink, it's to support Breast Cancer Campaign this month!
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), was introduced to the UK almost 20 years ago.It exists to help women be better aware of the common symptoms and seek help as early as possible, which increases their chance of survival. It also serves as a key time of the year when the public's support can be focused on raising vital funds for breast cancer research.
To help raise awareness, the Wear It Pink for Breast Cancer Campaign joins hundreds of thousands of people together, creating a collaborative force of scientists, supporters and people affected by breast cancer. Every year, it raises over £2 million during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, by asking people to wear something pink and donate whatever they can.
Their approach to breast cancer is pioneering and highly responsive. Breast Cancer Campaign looks for opportunities where the potential for real impact is the highest. Then, they send the necessary funding straight to where it can make the most difference.
